Car enthusiasts all around the US are thrilled by the announcement of the return of the Alfa Romeo to their market. After a long wait, the Italian flagship will now be back to the United States and this time round with a big bang. The long wait is attributed to the Alfa Rome’s ambition to return to the United States. It has taken a decade to achieve this, and you can be assured that the sports sedan won’t disappoint. The new Alfa has been labeled the Giulia and is expected to feature three models which include; Giulia standard, Giulia Super, and the Giulia Quadrifoglio.
Engine and Performance
The Quadrifoglio will make a grand entrance into the luxury crowd boasting of a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 Engine under the hood which will produce a massive 510HP at around 6500rpm. The V6 is integrated with a 6-speed manual shift transmission to give the drivers that sporty edged feel. The Giulia is rear-wheel drive, and thus it can be made to misbehave round corners to impress your girlfriend through understeers. The super will feature a 2.2-liter turbocharged four cylinder diesel engine with an 8-speed auto shift transmission. 0-60 takes just 3.8 seconds which is pretty impressive and will do a top speed of 191miles per hour. In a test drive, the Giulia Quadrifoglio has set a record of being the fastest four-door production sedan with an astounding track record of 7.32 seconds around the tormenting Nürburgring track.
Interior design
Inside the Giulia, you find a mind-blowing driver cockpit with a combination of state of the art equipment that defines the Alfa. The designers focused on simplicity and elegance so as not to compromise performance. On the dash, you will get an 8.8-inch LED screen with Navigation control amid other standard equipment which gives the driver full control. The seats feature an all leather upholstery detailed with contrast stitching. The interior is fully Giulia specific and has not borrowed from any other car company.
Exterior styling
The Italians are known to be magicians when it comes to styling, and that is the case with the Giulia. From a frontal view, you are welcomed by the bi-xenon headlights, a well-crafted carbon-fiber spoiler that is as sophisticated as a Shakespeare’s personal diary. The spoiler is intelligently designed to minimize drag and wind resistance on straight splitters while providing the much-needed down-force during braking and cornering. The Giulia features 19-inch allow wheels with ceramic brake pads. The body is made of carbon-fiber and aluminum that makes it lightweight helps achieve a near perfect 50/50 weight to body ratio. The car has an exceptional handling. Other notable features on the exterior include a four rear chrome exhaust tailpipes and the Alfa signature grille.
