The Lykan Hypersport is a popular hypercar which has been manufactured by a small company known as W Motors. The combined efforts of several French, Lebanese, as well as Italian engineers gave birth to this amazing vehicle in Lebanon in the year 2012. It has been showcased in the movie Furious 7 as well as various computer game projects such as Asphalt Nitro, Asphalt 8: Airborne, Forza Motorsport 6, Project CARS, Driveclub, and GT Racing 2: The Real Car Experience. In fact, it is the first vehicle which has been manufactured indigenously in the Arab world. However, the manufacturer only wishes to deliver 7 units of this particular automobile.
Engine and Specs
The engine was initially a Porsche powertrain; however, after this, it was upgraded mainly for this vehicle. The motor is a 3.6 L twin-turbocharged flat-6. This will enable the engine to generate as much as 780 hp and 740-pound feet of torque which puts it in the same grade as the other powerful vehicles on the planet. All the power is sent by the engine to the back wheels by means of a more sophisticated 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
Although the major portion of this automobile has been manufactured from carbon fiber, it also includes precious stones and metals in its body. This will definitely justify the high price tag of this vehicle. For instance, there are a couple of titanium blades on the headlights each of which has as many as 420 diamonds embedded in them. In general, the automobile features an extremely aggressive appearance which is quite unique in spite of the fact that it has been manufactured by a small company.
Exterior
One notable feature which is found on the exterior of this car is the presence of a hologram at the center of the column interface. Otherwise, the overall design is almost conventional. This sports car is guaranteed to last for quite some time. The Lykan Hypersport features layered surface treatments which have made this vehicle very powerful. A light military theme can be observed in various parts of the car including the roof. On the sides, the car looks rather choppy and the door is inside the main body by 5 inches. Although, the fenders are actually curved up from the front, they feature a sharp bottom edge from the rear. A huge vent at the back of each wheel helps to enhance the aero slipperiness and also minimize the air pressure.
Interior
Unfortunately, in spite of being so expensive, the Lykan Hypersport fails to live up to expectations so far as the interior is concerned. In fact, the interior appears rather cheap and dull with gray leather and other unattractive materials. However, this vehicle can boast of a 10-inch screen which is able to recognize gestures as commands using 3D sensors. This particular feature is absent in any other production vehicles.
Pricing
The total cost of the Lykan Hypersport happens to be around $3.4 million. This vehicle was first launched for sale on 28th June 2013 at the Qatar Motor Show and at present it has been purchased by the cops of Abu Dhabi.
